Hi Everyone,
My name is Amanda, I'm 20 years old, from Pennsylvania (east coast US). Nowadays I spend half my year living in Connecticut at university.
I've been simming for about 8 years now. Started out in a friend's game, which had about 30 members, but was very unrealistic. So I switched a year later to game that was part private, part all-sim. I played there for several years, when that fell apart (even though it was awesome) I switched to another game, which I still play now although it's on a bit of a hiatus. Because that game is currently inactive, and has never been very big, I brought my new horses and myself back into all-sim, which I'm happy about, and recently started playing Southern Acres Inc. I have my own sim stable, www.windfieldfarm.weebly.com
I focus primarily on Irish Sport Horses, who compete mainly in eventing, although there are some jumpers and a few hunters. I also keep a group of Irish Draughts, mostly eventers, and I hope to utilize them to breed Irish Sport Horses. I keep two Thoroughbred studs/show horses, and two Thoroughbred broodmares, again for an ISH breeding program. I also have a few Dutch Warmbloods, simply because I think they are amazing, and so versatile, it's nice to have a few other jumpers, hunters, and dressage horses.
Anyway, in real life I've been riding since I was seven, but have never owned a horse (3 siblings prevented that). I worked at the stable my last two years of high school, and worked full time there one summer. It was definitely a great experience. I still try to ride at school, but it's hard to fit into a schedule. I learned mostly hunter/jumper type riding, but there was a lot of cross-training.
In the partially all-sim game I played a little while ago we did some importing and exporting to the British Isles, as well as a little with Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Germany, and a few other places. That was mostly Thoroughbreds, Arabians and other warmbloods. I really liked the experience, and I'm hoping there is interest in Irish Sport Horses, or even Irish Draughts overseas, since that's my focus now.
So it's nice seeing there is interest in importing/exporting overseas horses, and I hope to get to know you guys a bit.
