Ashlee at SAI would be the best person to ask about this! She's our local working western guru

*bump* no answer yet :/ Does really nobody else know? I wrote en email to some one with a website listing reined cowhorse events, but the answer is not what I hoped for...
does that mean, if my horse can do Working cowhorse, is it able to do reined cowhorse too? I need to know it for my horses pages, to be able to write down in what they are able to compete....

Im not 100% sure of the differences, but I do know that reined cow horse is a combination of three classes; reining, cutting & working cow horse. Horses that compete in reined cow horse classes will compete in and get scores from the above three events.
Working cow horse is a "division" of reined cow horse and can be a stand alone event.
So a horse that does compete in reined cow horse can also compete in working cow horse. Horse competing in working cow horse do not always compete in reined cow horse because of the addition two events in a reined cow horse competition.

aaah, thats sounds interesting ! Thank you ! So, if I have a sim Reined Cowhorse competitor, the horse can also do reining, working cowhorse and cutting individually ? Would it make sense to compete a sim reined cowhorse - horse in cutting and reining as well ? Sorry, lol, but I want to be as realistic as I can be for my horses pages.

i could imagine it is a little bit like eventing - an eventing horse in level L also has to be good in dressage and jumping but it´s not as good in dressage as a level L dressagehorse. so perhaps a horse that is able to go a LK 1 reined cowhorse competition is also able to show in reining, working cowhorse and cutting but not at LK 1 but a little bit lower(?) just my idea, in fact i have no idea how exactly it is i would ask some of the western riders in our stable but i fear cutting and stuff is nothing they are so well informed about.
